Intoxicating energy, grown from true friendship!

"Music is a wonderful thing. Especially when it is played by brass instruments. The five young musicians of Karidion Brass are excellent at this art. The ensemble takes the liberty of playing through all genres - from baroque to classical to modern jazz. A musical experience that inspires me every time."

Winfried Kretschmann

Prime Minister of the State of Baden-Württemberg

When Kari, the ruler of the winds, meets Dionysus, the god of ecstasy, the curtain rises for Karidion Brass. The two deities perfectly symbolize the balance between power and strength as well as exuberance and sensuality, which is expressed in the playing of the young musicians.

The five professional musicians of Karidion Brass came together in 2015, while studying at the Karlsruhe University of Music, to form a permanent ensemble in order to convey to their listeners the full diversity of brass chamber music and their joy in making music together at the highest level. The ensemble's repertoire ranges from virtuoso pieces from the Baroque period to sophisticated original compositions and modern, jazzy melodies. The special line-up of a brass quintet with two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba opens up completely new areas of interpretation for the diverse works. In addition to the original works, the quintet mainly draws on its own or specially commissioned arrangements. Karidion Brass is a welcome guest on national and international concert and festival stages, including most recently with a total of 24 concerts at the EXPO2020 World Exhibition in Dubai, the Kreuth am Tegernsee International Music Festival and many more. As scholarship holders of the Live Music Now Oberrhein e.V. association, the five musicians of the ensemble repeatedly demonstrate the social effectiveness of music in many retirement homes, schools and non-profit organizations.

"The willingness to constantly question oneself, to renew oneself, to reach new musical levels, is certainly one of the most outstanding characteristics of Karidion Brass."

Tubist of the Badische Staatskapelle Karlsruhe, Professor for Tuba at the Karlsruhe University of Music, Tubist at Stockholm Chamber Brass

To inspire a young audience for classical music, Juri Tetzlaff, in close collaboration with Karidion Brass, has designed various programs for children's concerts of all ages that combine music and entertainment. With star presenter Juri Tetzlaff, known from the TV channel KIKA, the five musicians of Karidion Brass have enlisted an absolute expert in the field, who not only distinguishes himself through his gifted presentation skills, but also offers children a unique sound adventure by presenting the sometimes complex themes of the pieces in a very vivid and child-friendly way. This creates the perfect blend of top-quality music with fun and entertainment, with the main goal of offering children the joy of classical music and an entertaining experience at the same time.
